Wild for Schools
A Foundation for Schoolyard HAbitats
The guiding principle of Wild for Schools is always, whenever possible, the full immersion of children and young people in nature for its therapeutic and educational benefits. Usually, in this case, "nature" will be re-created or replicated with the native plants of California. But whether "natural" or replicated, nature can become, in the words of one student, their "happy place."
(NOTE: This organization, a non-profit, is still in preliminary "thinking, talking, and planning" stages of development. However, we do have an EIN (employee identification number), the makings of a Board with meetings to come, and new schools to work on, which is the real reason for the existence of this new nonprofit. There is more to come as we gain assistance, structure, people, and funding through donations and grants, both large and small. Leave your name with us and we'll get back to you, shortly. Thanks!-Mike) |
